Coach training applications open
Is this for you or someone you know? I am currently recruiting and carrying out selection interviews for the Coach Institute of Ireland’s next programme, beginning October 2026. This is a programme I have completed myself, and have taught on for many years. It’s AMAZING!
Over eight months, this programme is designed not just to teach coaching, but to develop coaches. There’s a difference.
Many training programmes lean heavily on models, slides, and theory only. While these have their place in our programme too, this is not where this programme end. Academic learning on its own does not create confident, capable practitioners. Coaching is relational. It is lived. It is felt. And it is learned through doing.
As Ireland’s longest running coach training programme, our programme is intentionally different.
There will be no PowerPoint slides. Instead, we’ll focus on:
Deep discussion
Real practice
Reflection through writing
Experiential learning in the room
You won’t just learn about coaching conversations - you’ll be in them, again and again, building skill, presence, and trust in your own way of working. We’ll explore the core competencies of coaching, but also what sits beneath them:
How you listen
How you hold space
How you manage yourself in the moment
How you build genuine connection
You as the instrument of your work
Alongside this, there will be strong, ongoing support. Myself and the other three facilitators will be providing on-site guidance, feedback, and supervision throughout the programme. This is not a “learn it and figure it out later” model. You’ll be supported as you grow.

These conversations matter. This programme isn’t about filling seats - it’s about building a cohort of people who are ready to engage, to stretch, and to learn from each other.
If you’re curious about becoming a coach, or deepening an existing practice, this could be the right space for you. Our students come from all walks of life; HR, Teaching, Health Practitioners, Addiction Counsellors, Coaches who want to learn more.
We only ever have small, in-person groups, and so the students get to learn from each other and the wide range of backgrounds in the room.
